Security Tips
To help keep your account secure, never paste text in your browser's Developer Tools
If someone asks you to copy and paste something into your browser's Developer Tools, don't do it. This is a scam known as "Self-XSS". The scammer wants you to run malicious code to get access to your account.
What is Self-XSS?
Self-XSS (self cross-site scripting) is a scam used by bad actors to gain access to your Akauntme account.
How does it work?
Scammers will post a message that looks like it's from a friend or a trusted page, like a celebrity or a brand. This message will tell you to copy and paste text into your browser's Developer Tools to get a feature that isn't available on Akauntme yet, like unblocking a friend or changing the color of your dashboard.
If you copy and paste the text into your Developer Tools, the scammer can access your account. They may be able to see your personal financial information or make posts on your behalf.
Only use your browser's Developer Tools to inspect or debug a page. Never copy and paste text into this tool.
